Characters can win the respect and admiration of their peers by playing an instrument, singing a song, or even just telling a joke. Use these rules whenever a character puts his wits and charisma to the test in an effort to impress and persuade.
Entertain an Audience: A Charisma check determines the relative success or failure of your attempt. This Charisma check is modified by the target audience’s average attitude towards you: helpful +2, friendly +0, indifferent -2, unfriendly -10. You may not attempt to Entertain a target who is hostile towards you.
|Charisma Check Result||Reaction|
|Less than 5||2 steps against|
|5-9||1 step against|
|15-19||1 step towards|
|20+||2 step towards|
Entertain an Individual: To identify the specific reaction of an individual, compare your modified Charisma check to the target’s Will Defense:
|-5 or less||2 steps against|
|5-9||1 step against|
|1-4||1 step towards|
|5-9||2 step towards|
|10+||1 step towards|
Play a “gig”: You may also use the Entertain ability to play at a cantina or bar in an effort to make money. Aside from the effects of garnering reputation and good favor amongst those you entertain, your Charisma check also determines the amount of money your employer is willing to pay at the end of the night (unless a contract was agreed upon previously). A night of entertaining allows you to earn a number of credits equal to 10 x your Charisma check. In some venues this monetary compensation is more likely to come by way of generous tips from the crowd, rather than any specific patron.
